Labour ministry meets with Secrets Hotel amid industrial action
The Ministry of Labour and Social Security says it will meet with management and staff of Secrets Hotel in Montego Bay after 100 workers employed to the resort took industrial action on Tuesday.
In a release, the ministry said the meeting will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday “to assist in ventilating the matter and arriving at an amicable solution.”
The ministry said it is “committed to continued attempts to ensure the maintenance of a peaceful industrial relations climate for all stakeholders.”
Staff of the hotel gathered at the round-a-bout in Freeport demonstrating for improved conditions.

According to the workers, they say they face a variety of challenges including low pay, overwork among others.
A National Workers Union representative is on location of the protest speaking to employees about their rights as the workers explore the process of becoming unionized.
