Hezron happy with Canada run
...says new music, album in pipeline
Reggae artiste Hezron has enjoyed a successful run of shows, having taken his live performances to Canada.
He enticed audiences as the headliner at the Cocktail and Jerk Fest in Edmonton, Canada. There, he and his band delivered a one hour and 20-minute set, performing songs such as Man On A mission, Taxi Driver, Kuja Nyumbani, Smile Today, Save The Children, as well as his reggae cover House of the Rising Sun.
“The turnout was great; the audience was clearly true reggae lovers. It was a mixture of people who appreciated and loved every bit of the performance,” the singer told the
Jamaica Observer.
Additionally, Hezron opened for UB40 at the Burning Kiln Winery in Norfolk, where he performed an intimate 30-minute set.
“It was a great vibe and the audience was amazing. I was called back twice with a standing ovation, and it was an incredible, surreal moment for me. Just me and my guitar,” he added.
With these successful shows under his belt, Hezron’s performance stint continues. He will be heading back to the continent of Africa, with four other countries added along with Ghana. He will also be back in Canada in February and March, slated for Black History Month and Valentine’s Day performances, as well as a few more major festivals in Canada.
Kuja Nyumbani is set to be officially released by Tads Records as a Black History Month tribute single. In addition, Hezron revealed that he is working on a roots rocking reggae album to be released by Tads Records.
“There will be a few new singles being released prior to this album. One is an Afrobeat vibe that was inspired by my trip to Ghana last year. I’ll also be carrying a different flavour with
Euphoric, which has a pop feel and is a danceable, fun love song,” Hezron stated.
The new album is slated for a January 2026 release.
