Police sergeant shot at St Catherine home; urgent appeal for blood donation
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica— There is an urgent appeal for blood donation for a police sergeant who was shot and injured at his home in Portmore, St Catherine Thursday night.
It is reported that sometime after 9pm, the sergeant was called out of his home when explosions sounding like gunshots were heard.
When the shooting subsided, it was discovered that the sergeant had been shot.
He was rushed to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
Police confirmed that the injured cop, who is assigned to the St Catherine North Division, is in serious but stable condition.
The police federation on Friday morning made an urgent appeal for blood for the injured cop.
