Mona High draw 1-1 with JC in Manning Cup quarterfinal

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Defending champions Mona High were held to a 1-1 draw by many-time champions Jamaica College in Zone A of the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup quarterfinal round at Stadium East on Friday.

Mona took the lead in the 35th minute when midfielder Sean Leighton blasted home from the edge of the box.

However, Jamaica College found the equaliser in the 66th minute when captain Dyllan John converted a penalty.

Both teams now have one point, while Kingston College and Tivoli are now playing to finish the zone’s first round of matches.

Only the top two will advance to the semifinals.
