FHC’s Civil Servants of the Year People’s Choice voting open
KINGSTON, Jamaica — First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union (FHC) in partnership with the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service and the Government’s Civil Service Week Committee is inviting the public to vote for their favourite civil servant for the FHC Civil Servants of the Year Awards People’s Choice category.
Voting is now open on the ministry’s website.
This marks the 18th staging of the FHC Civil Servants Awards to highlight the work of three government stars in the categories of technical support, middle management, and management.
The 2024 shortlisted nominees in the technical support category are Ministry of Health and Wellness Psychiatric Nursing Aide, Jeron Bonsfeather; Ministry of Education and Youth Records Officer, Paulette Lewis; Ministry of National Security Office Attendant, Dennis Brown; and Institute of Jamaica Office Attendant/Messenger, Jennifer Edwards.
In the mid-managerial category, the shortlisted nominees are Ministry of Health and Wellness Regional Health Records Administrator ,Veronica Miller Richards; Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation Executive Secretary, Kerry-Ann Wilson; Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation Checking Officer, Cindy Archat; and Statistical Institute of Jamaica Field Supervisor, Barbara Riley-Williams.
Jamaica Information Service Manager for Computer Services, Andre Allen; Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Senior Technical Coordinator, Arlene Bennett McLeod; Office of the Children’s Advocate Accountant, Yvette Thomas-Sleem; and Ministry of Labour & Social Security Research Analyst, Diana Kellier are the shortlisted nominees in the managerial category.
“The judge’s panel had the pleasure of interviewing the nine shortlisted nominees that were selected by the Civil Service Week Steering Committee; who had an arduous task of reviewing the over 400 nominations across all categories, a record number of submission for this year’s awards, and a testament that our civil servants are giving of their best daily and they are truly appreciated by their colleagues,” said Michelle Tracey, assistant general manager of marketing, communications and member experience at FHC. “We look forward to revealing the winners at the awards ceremony next week Friday.”
Civil Service Week is being observed November 17-23, 2024. The celebration is geared towards highlighting the worth and work of outstanding civil servants who have given excellent service to the country.’
Voting for the People’s Choice Award winner closes at midnight on Wednesday, November 13.
