Bobby Reid likely to miss Reggae Boyz Nations League games against USA
KINGSTON, Jamaica— It is unlikely that Leicester City’s Bobby Decordova-Reid will be included in Jamaica’s squad to face the United States in their home and away Concacaf Nations League quarter-final tie set for November 14 and 18.
This, after his club coach, Steve Cooper, expressed doubt over his readiness for their Premier League game against Manchester United on Sunday.
Decordova-Reid missed Leicester’s Premier League game against Ipswich Town after he picked up an injury in their 5-2 League Cup loss to Manchester United on October 30.
“Bobby missed Ipswich and still hasn’t returned to the grass,” Cooper confirmed on Friday.
“He picked up quite a nasty wound in the League Cup game at United and managed to carry on with it but as soon as he got back to the dressing room and took his boot off, he had a nasty wound on his Achilles that is in an awkward position.”
A release on the Leicester City website said “The Jamaica international is yet to train on the grass in Seagrave and is doubtful for Sunday”.
Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz will host the USA on Thursday, November 14 at the National Stadium in Kingston before playing them in the return leg at City Park in Missouri four days later.
