Harvard expert to deliver lecture on digital transformation, AI at UWI Mona
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Harvard Professor Bharat Anand, an expert in digital strategy, digital marketing, and corporate strategy, will on Thursday deliver the third in a series of distinguished lectures titled ‘Digital Transformation. Generative AI and Strategy’, at the Faculty of Law, The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.
The UWI Mona and VM Group Lecturer Series collaboration is designed to highlight the important role of public advocacy and thought leadership in advancing social progress. It aims to promote critical conversations to bring the wealth of knowledge generated within the academy to the people it serves
Professor Anand is the vice provost for advances in learning at Harvard University and the Henry R Byers professor of business administration at Harvard Business School.
Dr Tomlin Paul, deputy principal at The UWI, Mona and chair of the Distinguished Lecture Organising Committee, noted that the lecture is timely as many organisations in Jamaica including The University of the West Indies, Mona are undergoing digital transformation. He added that for such a strategy to be successful in today’s landscape it needs to include an assessment of how generative AI fits in.
The lecture is seen as a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights from a world-renowned expert and to engage in discussions on this topic.
