JPL, schoolboy football games postponed due to Tropical storm
KINGSTON, Jamaica — All football matches in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) as well as the ISSA organised competitions set for Monday and Tuesday have been postponed due to the impending Tropical Storm that is expected to affect the island.
The JPL match week number eight that was set for Waterhouse on Monday evening has been postponed for a later date, while the ISSA Manning Cup and daCosta Cup games that were set to be played Tuesday and Wednesday have been pushed back by one day, organisers of the competitions have announced.
Vere United FC and Mount Pleasant FA were set to play the first game of a double header at Waterhouse’s Drewsland field with Waterhouse and
Montego Bay United set to clash in the feature.
Meanwhile, ISSA has announced that the games in the quarterfinals of the Manning and daCosta Cups have been pushed back a day while the games in the junior competitions- Under -14 and Under -16 have also been postponed.
The Manning Cup games that were originally scheduled to be played on Tuesday are- defending champions Mona High against Jamaica College, Kingston College against Tivoli Gardens, Excelsior High against Hydel High and St Catherine High against Campion College.
The daCosta Cup games set for Tuesday are- St Elizabeth Technical against McGrath High and Glenmuir High against Frome Technical and on Wednesday- Munro College against Ocho Rios High and Central High against Garvey Maceo High.
