Former recording artiste embarks on a new journey in manufacturing
FORMER recording artiste Deezie has embarked on a new journey. For the past two years he has made the transition into manufacturing a line of personal care products called Farmbwoy.
He has put the focus behind the Farmbwoy castor oil, which he says has been making strides locally.
Deezie, whose real name is Dave Meikle, explained why he decided to venture into the manufacturing business.
“I’ve always been interested in starting a business, and because I have access to lands, I started out with livestock farming and beekeeping, then I gradually explored into other natural products,” he disclosed.
His small factory is located in Sandy Park, Clarendon, and he employs a small team which assists with production.
“I have a small team right now, but we are expanding each month. We operate on the farm that I own, and we are just pleased with the reception to the products that we make; however, the bath soap and the castor oil have been really doing well,” Meikle said.
For the future, Meikle plans to expand the Farmbwoy line while targeting the international market.
