Select Brands to distribute Hennessy
Select Brands has announced a new distribution partnership with Moet Hennessy which will see it adding a number of alcoholic beverages from the French luxury goods company to its portfolio.
The partnership, which officially takes effect Friday, sees Select Brands adding four new products — the Hennessy Cognac, Moët & Chandon, and Veuve Clicquot Champagnes as well as Belvedere Vodka to its line.
“The journey to this partnership was written in the stars as many of the stakeholders of Select Brands have a very long and storied history with the Moët Hennessy team and their portfolio,” Andrew Desnoes and David McConnell, Select Brands co-managing directors, stated in a release, adding “We are extremely excited about this new phase in our history as we proudly represent some of the most recognisable brands in the world. There are many synergies that we will build on to the benefit of both the Moët Hennessy portfolio and the current Select family of brands.”
Additionally, Paul Auriol, Central America and Caribbean managing director for Moët Hennessy, added, “Jamaica is a strategic market for Moët Hennessy in the Caribbean, and we believe this new partnership is indeed a promising new chapter in our long-lasting relationships with Jamaican consumers. We are delighted to join our strengths with Select Brands. The experience and knowledge of their talented young team on building premium brands have already created great success stories. Select Brands’ relationships with key trade partners, community bars owners, and high energy accounts across the island will be a key asset to continue crafting memorable experiences for Moët Hennessy’s present and future consumers.”
The Hennessy brand was made available for a new distributor in Jamaica after J Wray and Nephew Limited, a producer and distributor of alcoholic beverages, announced earlier this year that it will stop carrying the brand in favour of its parent company, Gruppo Campari’s own Cognac, Courvoisier.
Select Brands was founded in November 2011 by McConnell and Desnoes.
With a respected portfolio of international wines, spirits, and beers. The company is not only the largest importer of alcoholic beverages to Jamaica, but through the strength of a number of popular local brands, notably Stone’s Ginger Wine, and expansion into non-alcoholic beverages, is also one of the largest distributors of beverages on the island.
