Rumors of death threats against Roman circulated within the racing industry, causing concern. Tekapunt was later reinstated to first place following an appeal by the horse’s connections.

Seeking to defuse tensions, Roman emphasised his friendship with Foster. “We just want to keep it professional,” Roman told The Supreme Racing Guide. “This is a close and exciting battle for the championship, and we have our supporters cheering us on. We want to show unity and demonstrate that our friendship transcends competition.”

Roman and Foster had planned a joint gesture to promote unity and calm tensions among fans. “Things are getting out of hand,” Roman acknowledged. “Tevin and I are good friends, and we want to show that our rivalry is purely professional.”
