WATCH: Police Federation renews call for hospital protocols for cops
Jamaica Police Federation chair, Sergeant Arleen McBean is repeating the organisation’s call for the implementation of protocols at hospitals for members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) injured on duty.
“As a police federation we continue to echo concerns about protocols at public hospitals for members of the security forces, it is something that needs immediate attention,” McBean said, adding “Another renewed call to the Government of Jamaica, put the protocols in place for our policemen and women, we can’t be facing criminals and experiencing accidents and different incidents, and we are sitting in the hospital injured and nobody looking at us.”
According to McBean, “When there is an established protocol for servicemen and women, especially police officers who engage gunmen on a daily basis, it will be easier.”
She made the remark at a prayer service on Monday for two members of the St Catherine North police division who passed away last weekend.
