NY mom, two children leap to death at Niagara Falls
NEW YORK, United States – A 33-year-old woman and her two children are dead after she breached safety guard rails and leapt with them at Niagara Falls in the United States on Monday.
According to US media reports, the deceased has been identified as Chianti Means along with her nine-year-old son and five-month-old daughter.
It has since been revealed that the woman had been battling some personal issues. Investigations uncovered harrowing posts made to Means’ facebook page in the weeks before her death. The posts revealed the woman recently split from her daughter’s father whom she admitted to still being in love with, according to a report by NBC News.
“I wish someone would love me because the man that’s suppose to does not,” she wrote in late October. That post followed one made on October 1 which read, “everyone please leave me alone. I’m in love with my daughter’s father. I want my family back.”
In the meantime, police have determined that the incident was intentional.
“The investigation has determined that this incident was intentional in nature, though the circumstances remain under investigation,” New York State Police said in a press release on Wednesday.
The police added that search and rescue efforts were unsuccessful.
