Police probe death of driver beaten by mob following crash
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, (CMC) — Police are investigating the death of a 43-year-old driver who was allegedly beaten after he had been involved in a traffic incident in St Michael, south-west of here and attempted to flee the area.
Police said that they had earlier received a report of a crash in which a female was injured and the driver attempted to flee.
They said a group of men chased the driver, who was later identified as Pedro Caddle, and beat him to death.
The police said when they arrived at the scene, they discovered his injured, unresponsive body. Ambulance personnel were summoned but they found no signs of life.
Caddle was confirmed dead at the scene by a medical doctor.
The crash victim has been hospitalised.
