Spray painter held during alleged escape attempt after robbery
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police have arrested and charged one of several men who allegedly robbed individuals in the vicinity of Tarrant High School in St Andrew last Saturday.
He is 29-year-old Dwayne Barrett, a spray painter of Jackson Road, Kingston 10, who is now charged with robbery with aggravation.
Reports are that on Saturday, October 19, a group of friends walking along the roadway was pounced upon by several men armed with machetes, knives and scissors.
The police said the men proceeded to rob the individuals of their property before attempting to escape. Barrett was, however, intercepted by officers and pointed out by one of the victims.
He was later arrested and subsequently charged after a question and answer session on Monday, October 21, 2024 in the presence of his attorney.
His court date is being finalised.
