Grand Slam Track signs Rushell Clayton
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Rushell Clayton has been added to the list of Jamaican athletes who will participate in the inaugural Grand Slam Track, scheduled to begin in 2025.
Clayton joins Ackera Nugent and Roshawn Clarke who were signed last week.

Clayton is the second fastest Jamaican of all time in the 400m hurdles, and the first since 2011 to break 53 seconds. She most recently placed fifth in the 400m hurdles at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
“I’ve worked so hard to get to this point and I’m ready to give Grand Slam Track my all in every single race,” said Clayton. “I’m focused and ready to be part of making history. This is just the beginning.”
Grand Slam Track is a professional track league, similar to the Diamond League. It promotes match-ups between fastest stars in the sport, Grand Slam Track said.
The league will host four meets taking place between April and September.
Organisers said each year, 48 athletes will be named to the league as Grand Slam Track racers.
So far talents announced for next year include Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Melissa Jefferson, Masai Russell, Quincy Hall, Fred Kerley, Kenny Bednarek, Cole Hocker, Yared Nuguse, Grant Fisher, Josh Kerr, Matthew Hudson-Smith, Nikki Hiltz, Cyrena Samba-Mayela, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Alison Dos Santos, Ronald Kwemoi, Muzala Samukonga, and Clement Ducos.
