Curfew imposed in Rockfort after mass killing
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 48-hour curfew has been imposed in the Pleasant Heights and Oliver Road sections of Rockfort, Kingston following the shooting death of five persons on Monday, October 21.
The curfew began at 8:00 pm on Monday, October 21 and will remain in effect until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 23.
The boundaries of the curfew are:
North: Along Pleasant Heights road, from the marl pit to Hillside Crescent.
East: Along an imaginary line from Windward road, vicinity Doech road to Hillside Crescent.
South: Along Windward road from Doech road to Oliver road.
West: Along Oliver road from Windward road to the marl pit at Pleasant Heights road.
During the hours of the curfew, all persons within its boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised by the ground commander.
Five persons were shot and killed at a football match held in the east Kingston community on Monday evening. An undisclosed number of persons were also injured in the incident.
