Pothole problems in Portmore
Dear Editor,
The people of Portmore are extremely frustrated and disgruntled about the potholes that are all over the municipality at this time.
These massive potholes are more like craters and are not only a threat to our vehicles but a threat to life and limb! I know of several people who have had motor vehicle accidents because of these craters.
In addition, they make an already bad traffic situation even worse.
The people of Portmore deserve better; we pay our taxes like everybody else and it is not fair for us to endure this hazard morning, noon, and night. The Government is busy touting its latest initiatives — Shared Prosperity through Accelerated Improvement to our Road Network (SPARK) and REACH road rehabilitation programme — and these are not sparking or reaching us here in Portmore.
In addition, the National Works Agency’s work on Passage Fort Drive is a complete fiasco. We were told this would have been completed by September, but we are now approaching the end of October, and the completion of that project is nowhere in sight.
We are demanding the urgent repair of our roads so we can have a better quality of life, as we deserve no less.
