CIBC Caribbean supports building futures at Women’s Centre
FOR its 2024 Adopt-A-Cause initiative, the CIBC Caribbean customer care and sales centre team spearheaded a project to support the Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation (WCJF) with a generous donation and an impactful engagement session focused on career development and personal empowerment.
The event took place at the Kingston location on October 9, where CIBC Caribbean presented essential items to aid the young women at the centre.
The items donated included baby products, wall fans, and a variety of kitchen utensils, a blender and stand mixer, all tailored to meet the needs of the centre and the young women they support.
Acting Centre Manager Moya Gibbs expressed deep gratitude for the donations.
“We are truly thankful for these much-needed items. They will significantly support our efforts to empower young women as they navigate challenging circumstances,” she said.
Lawrence Woodham, senior customer service agent at CIBC Caribbean, led the initiative and emphasised the transformative impact of the project.
“Beyond the physical donations, engaging with the young ladies about their career goals and aspirations was both inspiring and hopeful, leaving a lasting impression on all of us,” he said.
The Adopt-a-Cause project is part of CIBC Caribbean’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community.
The WCJF, which has centres islandwide, was established to support teenage mothers and their babies, through their transition back into the formal education system. The foundation offers various services, both educational and psychosocial, to benefit the young ladies served.
