St Catherine edge zone rivals St George’s in Manning Cup
ST Catherine High School recorded a hard-fought 1-0 victory away to St George’s College (STGC) in the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association/Digicel Manning Cup encounter at Winchester Park on Friday, to move to the top of Zone G.
Romaine Walker netted the all-important goal for the Anthony Patrick-coached St Catherine in 28th minute of the game. The victory moved St Catherine to 22 points, three ahead of STGC.
Both St Catherine and STGC have already secured their spots in the second round of the Manning Cup.
They are followed in Zone G by Holy Trinity High and Norman Manley High, on seven points each, and Papine High on three.
On Saturday Eltham will be seeking their eighth-straight victory in Zone A when they take on Hydel High. Etham lead Zone A with 21 points, three ahead of Hydel. They are followed by Dunoon Park Technical and Clan Carthy, on six points each, and Ardenne on three.
