All set for St Thomas Curry Fest on Sunday
This Sunday, Yallahs Primary School will be the venue for the second staging of St Thomas Curry Fest to kick-start Heroes’ Weekend.
The event, which will run from noon to 9:00 pm, is free to the public until 3:00 pm.
Organisers are optimistic that it will be a wholesome family affair with good food, good music, rides for the kids, giveaways, and competitions.
“With this event, we hope to provide the ideal family outing that will leave families feeling blessed and enriched. To maintain the excitement throughout the day we will have the hilarious ‘Granny’, clowns, fire dancers, and a lot more entertainment,” shared Wanda Oh Canada, one of the event’s promoters.
Patrons will be treated to high-quality mixes from JavvySupreme, Kevin Genius, DJ Lus, and DJ Unknown.
According to the promoter, stage performances will also be part of the proceedings in the evening.
“The performances should kick off at about 6:00 pm. Last year we had Busy Signal… and this year will also be fundamental with performances by Kaka High Flames, Version, Substance, Shabako, and an unexpected guest artiste that will leave our patrons wanting more. Additionally, gospel artistes and St Thomas-based DJs will be performing,” he said.
The organiser promises a day chock-ful of excitement for everyone.
“This Sunday, everyone should saddle to the east. If you are coming from Kingston, it’s just a 20-minute drive from Harbour View, so there is no excuse to miss Curry Fest. Furthermore, there will be everything curry for your delight, including curry goat, lobster, and shrimp. We will even have curry rice,” said Wanda Oh Canada.
