One Great Studio adds video production line

IN a bid to further diversify its current suite of offerings, digital marketing agency One Great Studio (1GS) recently announced the launch of a new video production business line from which it is looking to increase revenues.

With the introduction of this new line the company said it is hoping to do more in-house video productions as it deepens how clients are served and as it moves to create improved efficiencies.

Djuvane Browne, CEO of 1GS, in describing the addition of the video production business line as a strategic and timely move, told shareholders at the company’s recent annual general meeting that it was one also aimed at maximising revenues.

“The introduction of our video production services marks a pivotal moment for 1GS, enabling us to provide more comprehensive and impactful solutions. We believe that video content should be an integral part of our clients’ marketing strategies, and we are dedicated to delivering this to help them achieve their business goals,” Browne stated.

“In today’s market, video outperforms static content, especially on social media, and we expect this trend to continue. This new venture underscores our commitment to diversifying our revenue streams, listening to the market, and responding with solutions that meet the market needs,” he added.

Video productions coming from the new line now see clients being able to choose from “reel deal” products, which are those specially created for social media and feature organic-style, short videos done with a basic set-up. Other offerings include podcast productions, which will be more professional in nature; as well as brand stories produced using compelling video narratives that showcase the essence and journey of a brand; and tutorial-style videos designed to deliver informative and engaging content which can be used for employee onboarding and training purposes.

Having already procured all the necessary equipment needed to undertake these types of productions, the company said it will begin to roll out services immediately. The hire of experienced Video Production Manager David Johnson, who has previously worked with 1GS on a number of its proprietary and other large-scale projects, is expected to get the films rolling at an even faster pace.

The company’s management said while there is an expectation for the new line to generate revenues immediately, the material impact on earnings, they believe, will however take some time to develop as the company builds out the department.

“Nevertheless, this move provides a solid foundation for future growth. Having an in-house video production unit will offer significant benefits for both the company and its clients, as video has proven to be highly effective in connecting with audiences and is a crucial medium in the overall customer engagement network. This service will also complement most of the existing service packages contracted by 1GS clients,” management noted.

Listed on the junior market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange since September 2023, 1GS revenues up to the first half of this year stood at $175.3 million, with profit of $23.6 million and total assets valued at $645 million.

The digital marketing company, in servicing hundreds of local and international clients, is a 12-year-old entity which currently specialises in several other business service offerings in the areas of web and app designs, digital strategy and marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO), and creative branding. Headquartered in Kingston, the company also owns and operates HV Digital LLC, a US-based SEO agency.
