Dancehall artiste Thug Famous is generating major attention with his breakout single Addicted, a racy single with a great hook that has caught the ears of the teenage audience on social media.

“It’s always a dream for me to be one of the greatest in history. My sound and my flow is very different from the other artiste in dancehall, I have a very unique sound with a classic image, so I know it’s my time,” Thug Famous, whose real name is Demoy Plant, said.

Released on the Mad Dawg Entertainment label, the single is now available on all major digital and streaming platforms with distribution courtesy of Onerpm distribution. Visuals for the song have also racked up thousands of views since its release ten days ago.

“The response, especially on Tik Tok, has been great so far,” he said.

Thug Famous, who hails from the gritty inner city community of Grants Pen in St Andrew, known for producing several prominent luminaries, deejays Jahshii and Savage Savo, is working assiduously to be the next big thing from that community. He attended Oberlin High school where he first developed his love for music.

After christening himself Thug Famous, he recorded his first song in 2012, and since that time, he has continued to hone his craft. He first jumped into the public spotlight with Bad Gal in 2022 that generated underground buzz in the streets.

“I freestyle songs, I never ever write a song with paper and pen before, and that immediacy gives the song more energy,” he said.

According to the principals of Mad Dawg Entertainment, responsible for guiding the professional career of Thug Famous, the song is surpassing early expectations with excellent streaming numbers in Jamaica and the USA.

“My fans should expect more hard work and a lot of greatness. ⁠⁠I’m looking forward to tour a lot of countries and I’m looking forward for a lot of big collaborations,” he said.
