Vaz says man who attacked JUTC bus has been identified
Transport Minister Daryl Vaz says a man who was seen damaging a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus in a video widely circulated on social media has been identified and is being sought by the police.
Vaz made the announcement in a comment posted to X, formerly Twitter, after being tagged with a video of the perpetrator hurling an object at the bus. The individual, suspected to be a taxi operator, then used his vehicle to block the bus.
“The person in this video has been identified and the vehicle he is driving has also been identified,” Vaz wrote.
The attack reportedly occurred last Wednesday along Old Hope Road in St Andrew.
In the past, Vaz has condemned such acts as an attack on Government property and warned that legislation is to be sought to allow for the treatment of such acts as being far more serious than simple stone-throwing incidents.
