Khadija Shaw’s double sends Manchester City to the top of the league table
Khadija “Bunny” Shaw scored twice to secure a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory for Manchester City Women against Liverpool in the Women’s Super League on Sunday.
Shaw’s second goal came in dramatic fashion with a 92nd-minute winner.
This win moved Manchester City to the top of the league table with 10 points from four matches.
According to a SportsMax news report, Shaw’s late header sealed all three points for her team in a hard-fought contest at Anfield.
Liverpool took the lead with Olivia Smith’s long-range strike, a right-footed effort from outside the box. However, City’s Shaw levelled the field with a right-footed shot from the centre of the box, finishing in the top right corner after a precise through ball from Laia Aleixandri, the report said.
Shaw then secured the win for her team in the 92nd minute, when Lauren Hemp delivered a perfect cross from the wing and Shaw headed the ball into the bottom left corner.
