Xodus posts digital launch
‘Utopia: Garden of Paradise’ themed costumes revealed
The usual physical showcase for the costume presentation was nixed this year as Xodus Carnival opted for a more inclusive showcase, dropping a stunning visual on Wednesday, October 9 as the Company debuted its first-ever digital band launch.
Kick-starting the 2024/25 carnival season, the band rolled out its ‘Utopia: Garden of Paradise’ themed costumes by way of a short movie on all its social media platforms, as spectators worldwide tuned in.
Sporting colourful feathers and flowers, glistening diamonds and intricate designs, the costumes consist of nine sections: Anolia, Bloom, Mariposa, Talon, Venom, Wet, Dragon Fruit, Sol and Ivy — each epicting variants of a lush tropical ‘Garden of Paradise’.
Kandi King, head of marketing at Xodus Carnival, shared that: “Overall, the impressions of our first-ever digital band launch were super positive. People were buzzing with excitement, praising the costumes, the impressive cinematography, and how cohesive everything felt.”
She added that viewers were especially thrilled about the variety of options in this year’s costumes, with many highlighting the innovative designs.
“We had over 50,000 viewers within the first two hours, and that number has continued to rise since then… Conversion rates (pre-registrations and costumes purchases) have also far surpassed our expectations so far,” King shared.
Prior to the launch on Wednesday evening, Xodus Carnival opened pre-registrations on its website, which enabled revellers to receive credits on their costumes.
Still, soca fans are in for a treat as the biggest carnival band brings back the remedy for those having Carnival withdrawals. Xodus Remedy returns to the National Stadium Ring Road on November 8, 2024, with some of the hottest DJs and a slew of surprises.
