St Catherine hammer Norman Manley in Manning Cup
St Catherine High School recorded a massive 10-0 victory over former champions Norman Manley High in the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association/Digicel Manning Cup Zone G encounter at Spanish Town Prison Oval on Friday.
The victory moved the Anthony Patrick-coached team to 19 points. With one round of matches remaining, Zone G leaders St George’s College, also on 19 points, are marginally ahead of St Catherine High by virtue of their superior goal difference.
Holy Trinity High are third in the zone on seven points, followed by Norman Manley (four) and Papine High on three.
Zone A leaders Eltham High, who are yet to concede a goal in this year’s tournament, recorded their seventh-straight victory this season with a 3-0 win over Clan Carthy High.
Eltham, who won the Walker Cup knock-out title in 2006, leads Zone A with 21 points, ahead of Hydel High, on 18. They are followed by Dunoon Park Technical and Clan Carthy, on six each, and Ardenne High, on three.
