DJ Rassarella shows The Flip Side
Disc jockey and performer DJ Rassarella is nurturing his music artistry with the release of his new project, The Flip Side.
It was officially be released on October 8.
“The project is expressing the other side of Rassarella, who is known primarily as a disc jockey by everyone. In this project, I’m showing some versatility in conversation on the beats and in production as a producer,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
With six songs and an interlude, the project contains seven tracks in total. Five of the songs were mixed by Shane Brown. Two featured tracks, Excitement and Jah Guide, were previously released to build the momentum for the body of work. Another track, Hello, is on a promotional rotation on the Caribbean station, Roadblock Radio.
With the time spent on lockdown during the height of the novel coronavirus pandemic, he was able to bring out the creative expression to write and record these songs.
“For my style, I try to put things in perspective, keeping it listener-friendly for listeners from all age groups, without anything derogatory. I just want people to understand that the Rassarella brand is growing and there are no limits. I’m hoping that people can see my talent and see that I can do the work that is required to produce quality music,” he said.
Having recently completed a successful run of shows in Europe, DJ Rassarella is now putting some focus on his own productions and building his catalog as a musician, bringing worthwhile songs to the airwave.
“This project is more growth for me, from just playing music and introducing music to people to putting lyrics together and riding the rhythm while juggling. So we got to this point now when we actually put it to production and we have been expressing ourselves on beats for years now while deejaying,” he added.
With other projects in the works for Rassarella, one thing fans can look forward to is an upcoming weekly event called Reggae Wi Seh.
