P’damore banks on new video for ‘Fish Out of Water’
For most of his career, P’damore has been an independent artiste who has recorded songs for independent producers in Jamaica and Canada. He recently launched his first music video since changing moniker from Mr Vigorous.
The visual for Fish Out of Water was filmed in Toronto where he has lived for several years. It is directed by Sunshine Arcilla for OTR Media Productions.
P’damore produced the single which came out in late 2023. He hopes the video will introduce him to new fans.
“People who listened to di song keep saying, ‘yuh need a video’. So, I went di extra mile to get my name out there,” he told Observer Online.
Inspired by the breakup of a relationship, Fish Out of Water is his second song as P’damore, the first being Mama mi Find The Right Person, another 2023 release.
The latter marked P’damore’s return to the music business after an extended break. As Mr Vigorous, he recorded songs throughout the 1990s in Jamaica for producers including Phillip Fraser, the popular grassroots singer.
Those early songs include False Money Gal and Mi Know Shame.
After discovering that another artiste had a similar stage name, he shed Mr Vigorous for P’damore and relaunched his career.
He is banking on his new video to, “take me to another level.”
