UPDATE: Six more Haitians found in Portland
PORTLAND, Jamaica— Six more Haitians who arrived by boat on a beach in Kensington, Portland on Saturday have been captured . This brings to 20, the number of migrants held in the parish.
Among the Haitians who landed in Portland are two boys, one of whom is a toddler; four females and 14 males.
Observer Online was told that the Haitians are being processed at the Port Antonio police station as the authorities make checks as to whether any of the migrants had previously landed in Jamaica.
On Saturday, police and soldiers swarmed the Kensington area after a boat carrying the Haitians landed.
