Sandra Rose, Shawn Storm upbeat about collabs
Recording artiste Sandra Rose has finally got an opportunity to cement her working relationship with Shawn Storm, following his release from prison on July 31.
The two began communicating via direct messaging on Instagram while the deejay was behind bars and released a track titled Luxury Dolly back in March.
“It was just one of those things where he just reached out to me, and we just started talking as friends. Working with him is really chill; it’s always a good vibe,” she told the
Jamaica Observer.
The track was produced by Johnny Wonder/ Khwashana Records.
Now that they have got a chance to promote their collaboration, Rose revealed that there is a second project already in the pipeline.
“We’ve already discussed it. He’s very versatile; he’s very talented. We actually hung out for a few days and we just ran some rhythms and he was just spitting bars. You never really realise how talented somebody is until they start freestyling. He’s very, very talented,” she said.
She also had an opportunity to meet Vybz Kartel. Pictures of the singer and the world-famous deejay have been making rounds on social media, and she hopes they too will also collaborate soon.
Rose made her musical debut with the song Whiplash, for which the official music video was released on January 18. She has resided in Canada since 2012, but travels back and forth between the North American country and Jamaica. Formerly a model, Rose has appeared in several music videos for international acts including Weather the Storm by DJ Khaled, Meek Mill and Lil Baby, and Together by Charly Black.
Only about nine months into the music industry, Rose said that she has found her rhythm pretty quickly.
“I go back and forth from Jamaica and Canada, but it’s not really different to me versus when I wasn’t making music and now because I’ve always been the one to just get up and travel for vacations or modelling. So it hasn’t been hard to tackle the demands of music,” the singer said.
