Ocho Rios High deducted six points over ineligible player in d’Cup
ST ANN, Jamaica – Ocho Rios High were on Wednesday deducted six points in the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition after they were found to have used an ineligible player in two games in Zone K of the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup competition.
According to a release from ISSA, the player had accumulated three yellow cards and, based on the rule, “If a player receives three yellow cards in the preliminary round, he will automatically miss his team next match”.
Ocho Rios had won both games with massive margins, beating Ferncourt High 10-0 on September 24 before recording an 8-0 win over Marcus Garvey Technical on September 27.
As a result, the games will be awarded to Ferncourt High and Marcus Garvey Technical, respectively, by 3-0 margins.
Additionally, the player will miss the game against Aabuthnott Gallimore High on Wednesday, October 2.
The adjusted points tables in Zone K sees Browns Town High taking over the lead with 13 points, one more than Ocho Rios High, while both Ferncourt High and Marcus Garvey Technical improved to nine points each.
