New energy for Ras Kronik’s ‘Agree to Disagree’
Many times, a song enjoys a revival when remastered or remixed. Ras Kronik and Pandemic Records hope a fresh sound will help Agree to Disagree find new ears.
The song was initially released last year as part of Ras Kronik’s album, The Energy, but he and management at the Atlanta-based company agreed to remaster the roots-reggae track. It was released on September 20.
The Las Vegas-based singer told Observer Online that it is important artistes and producers be imaginative to broaden their base, which is what took place with Agree to Disagree.
“I would say we’re creators and when creating, especially with sounds, all positive things can happen, you know,” he said.
Agree to Disagree is a call for mutual respect, whether people hold differences on various topics.
“The message behind this song is very simple, we can have different opinions about things but at the end of all the differences, it is one love, and that each and every one should stand together for our freedom,” Ras Kronik reasoned.
The Energy is his third album, following The Real Thing and Wild N Free. While the 12-song set contains songs produced by Pandemic Records, Clarendon-born Ras Kronik also worked with the Bonafide Band, a group of Jamaicans who also live in Las Vegas.
