Mystic Warrior looking to make breakthrough with new single
In the nine years since he began recording songs, Mystic Warrior has learned the importance of being patient in the music business.
Be Fine, his latest single, is part of a big thrust to get the Clarendon-born singer in the mainstream. He co-produced it with Rocky Valley Records for his Lee Benjamin Records.
“It’s a timeless song with a strong message. We have an EP in di works an’ we plan to release two more songs before it comes out,” Mystic Warrior told the Jamaica Observer.
A roots-reggae single, Be Fine was released in August along with a debut music video his management hopes will help expose the dreadlocked artiste and its message of resilience.
To help promote the song, Mystic Warrior was active on the Kingston live scene throughout September, performing at events such as Rub A Dub Hurricane, Boombox Freeflow Fridayz, and the Ethiopian New Year event at Footprints.
From the district of Nineteen Mile, Mystic Warrior said he has “a signature sound that has developed over time”. That sound was fashioned by listening to different genres including roots-reggae, dancehall, and hip hop.
Previously known as Prince Paradise, he cut songs such as Mister Hungry and Jah Watch Over Me under that moniker.
Mastermind, True Love, and Dem a Rush are some of the songs he has released since he became Mystic Warrior
