MCCU grants $300,000 to homeowner to rebuild
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — The Manchester Co-operative Credit Union (MCCU) recently assisted one of its members with a grant of $300,000 towards repairing her home after it was damaged nearly three months ago during the passage of Hurricane Beryl.
In a statement, MCCU said its member, Theresa Williams, suffered significant damages to her home as her roof, furniture and other sections were damaged.
“The Manchester Co-op Credit Union recognising the immediate need for aid, made a financial contribution to help Miss T Williams with the recovery process. This move highlighted the credit union’s unique approach to giving financial assistance, driven by the collective strength and compassion of its membership. As a member-owned institution, the Manchester Co-operative Credit Union prides itself on prioritising the welfare of its members and responding proactively to their needs,” the statement read in part.
“Miss T Williams expressed her profound gratitude for the support she received. The Manchester Co-operative Credit Union continues to lead by example, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of community support and resilience,” the statement added.
