Hood Celebrityy, Shenseea continue their surge up Billboard charts
Two Jamaican female artistes Tina aka Hood Celebrityy and Shenseea are representing the culture as they continue to impact urban charts stateside.
With her second Billboard entry Roses, Hood Celebrityy inches up from #28 to #27 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, in its fifth week on the tally.
Over on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay the track steps up from #45 to #43 in its second week.
Meanwhile, Shenseea’s Work Me Out, featuring Wizkid, is steady at #38 on Rhythmic Top 40, while over on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, it improves from #34 to #31.
Work Me Out, which is featured on Shenseea’s sophomore album Never Gets Late Here, debuts at #46 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
In the meantime, the sole Jamaican male making moves on multiple Billboard charts, music producer and artiste Rvssian, has earned new certifications for his latest single
Santa, which features Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro and singer Ayra Starr.
Santa, which was previously certified triple platinum in Spain, has now been certified platinum in Mexico by the Mexican Association of Producers of Phonorgrams and Videograms AC (AMPROFON) for sales exceeding 60,000 units.
In Italy, the Federation of the Italian Music Industry has issued a gold certification for the song, which has exceeded sales of 50,000 units.
Santa has backtracked from #13 to #16 on the latest Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, where it peaked at #7, while over on Latin Airplay, the song tumbles from #11 to #17. It peaked at #10.
It takes a plunge from its peak at #6 to #9 on Latin Rhythm Airplay.
Legend by Bob Marley and the Wailers logs 245 non-consecutive weeks in the #1 spot on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart, as Shaggy revisits the #2 position with Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection.
Sean Paul’s Dutty Classics Collection slides down to #3, World on Fire by Stick Figure,
Greatest Hits by UB40 and Set in Stone by Stick Figure are at #s 4, 5 and 6.
Sean Paul’s Dutty Rock re-enters at #7, Wisdom by Stick Figure slips to #8, Courage to Grow by Rebelution re-enters at #9, and Welcome to Jamrock by Damian Marley is down to #10.
On regional charts, This Too Shall Pass by Onique spends a 5th week in the #1 spot on the Rebel Vibez Top Ten Canadian Reggae chart. Smile by Michael St George is #2, while Pick Up the Pieces by Steele is at #3. Reggae Music Still Deh Ya by Legato is at #4 and How Long by Blk Orchid inches up to #5.
Over to the New York Reggae chart, Wisemen by Damian Marley takes over the #1 spot, with Believe (remix) by Kabaka Pyramid and Rygin King moves from #11 to #9.
There are four new entries, Private Party by JC Lodge at #25, Don’t Turn Around by Will Downing is #26, Hurt So Good by Novel-T (#28), and Flashing Lights by Chaka Demus at #30.
You Must Believe Me by veteran singer Keith Cole tops the South Florida Reggae chart, with Feeling Irie by Glen Washington stepping up from #10 to #6.
Grateful by Etana rises from #14 to #11 and Big Up Kamala Harris (#22) by Richie Stephens and Rude Bwoy by George Nooks (#24) are this week’s new entries.
