Red Stripe makes waves on International Coastal Cleanup Day
UNDER the ‘Kingston Harbour Clean-Up Project’, more than 20 Red Stripe employees demonstrated the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship by removing more than 1,000 pounds of debris from Sirgany Beach in honour of International Coastal Cleanup Day last Saturday.
Embodying their core value of ‘Care for People and Planet’, the employees prepared for the day’s activities in advance.
Through the Desnoes and Geddes Foundation, they journeyed to Kingston Harbour for a rewarding day of service and sustainability, participating in the overall beach clean-up and jingle competition.
Smiles and camaraderie filled the air as employees banded together, each contributing to the collective action towards environmental responsibility — paving the way to a greener tomorrow.
Kingston Harbour is one of the most polluted harbours in the Caribbean. It still, however, manages to remain a significant economic and cultural relic in Jamaica. As such, the environmental restoration efforts demonstrated at the International Coastal Cleanup Day are vital for the site’s sustainability.
