ST JAMES, Jamaica — Omar Thompson scored in time added on as Harbour View escaped with a 2-1 win over Montego Bay United (MBU) in their Jamaica Premier League game at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Monday.
Harbour View came from a goal down to earn their first win of the season after they were beaten 2-1 in their opening game by promoted Chapelton Maroons.
Harbour View finished the game with 10 men after Thompson was sent off by referee Daneon Parchment after he picked up a second yellow card.
MBU dominated the game and got off to a fast start, taking the lead in the eighth minute when Brian Brown rounded goalkeeper Romario Palma and scored into an empty goal.
Harbour View drew level in the 27th minute when Oquassa Chong scored from the penalty spot.
Thompson scored the winning goal in the fourth minute of time added in the second half when he was allowed to run through the MBU defence and fire past goalkeeper Aaron Enill from close range.
MBU got the ball into the net on two occasions late in the second half, including right after Thompson’s goal but both were ruled out for offside.
