US judge orders Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs jailed pending trial
NEW YORK, United States (AFP) — A United States judge on Tuesday refused a bail request from Sean “Diddy” Combs and ordered the superstar rapper jailed pending his trial on racketeering and sex trafficking charges.
Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky ordered Combs to remain in custody after the music mogul pleaded not guilty to the charges in an indictment that was unsealed on Tuesday.
The music mogul was on Tuesday indicted on charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. He also faces a third charge of “transportation to engage in prostitution,” the US Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York said.
Shortly after, his attorney Marc Agnifilo told media he plans to appeal the decision to hold Combs without bail.
Speaking outside the courthouse following the hearing, Agnifilo said, “Mr Combs is a fighter, he’s going to fight this until the end, he’s innocent.”
“We’re going to fight this case with everything we have, as is he,” he added.
