MINI’s ‘Ace’ next month
MINI Jamaica is set to launch the first-ever, all-electric MINI Aceman in Jamaica in October 2024.
The Aceman joins the MINI Cooper SE, and the recently launched Countryman as all-electric offerings from the brand. Positioned between the smaller MINI Cooper and the larger MINI Countryman, the new MINI Aceman combines compact exterior dimensions with as much room as possible for occupants.
“The MINI Aceman represents a pivotal advancement for the MINI brand in Jamaica. It provides a stylish and compact alternative that allows customers to start their journey with MINI and seamlessly transition to models like the Countryman as their needs evolve. The Aceman not only caters to those seeking a more compact SUV but also serves as our most affordable SUV variant,” said Sloane Jackson, head of business — MINI Jamaica.
The MINI Aceman will be available in two variants, the MINI Aceman E — with a 309-kilometre range, and the MINI Aceman SE — with a 405-kilometre range minimising customers’ range anxiety due its ability to do a Kingston to Montego Bay roundtrip. The Aceman E will feature a 38.5 kWh high-voltage battery, while the Aceman SE will feature a 49.2 kWh high-voltage battery. Both batteries can be AC charged at 11 kW. DC fast charging is also possible, up to 75 kW for the Aceman E, and up to 95 kW for the Aceman SE. Using DC fast charging station, 10 per cent to 80 per cent of battery charge can take under 30 minutes.
“We are optimistic that the Aceman will significantly impact our sales positively, contributing 10-15% to our annual figures in 2025, and further solidify our presence in the Jamaican market,” said Jackson.
