TMC serves demolition notices on illegal settlers at Falmouth fishing beach

TRELAWNY, Jamaica – The Trelawny Municipal Corporation (TMC) has served demolition notices on occupiers of illegal structures erected at the fishing beach near the Falmouth All Age School.

According to the mayor of Falmouth and chairman of the TMC, Councillor C Junior Gager, occupiers of some of the illicit buildings frequently trespass on the nearby school compound where they allegedly discard waste.

The informal settlers, who Gager claims also trespass on the works of the Jamaica Public Service, allegedly also play loud music during school hours.

He said the TMC has filed a police report.
