Man shot and injured in shootout between gangsters in Greenvale, Manchester

MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Police and soldiers are now patrolling a section of Greenvale in Manchester where a man was shot and injured during a reported shootout between gangsters.

Preliminary reports are that about 8:50 am on Thursday, the man who is from Gabby Street in Greenvale, exited his car in the neighbouring area of Bethel Street when gunmen alighted from another vehicle and opened fire at him. Police said the man returned fire.

He was taken to hospital and admitted for treatment.

In recent days, five people have been murdered in Manchester and five others injured in gun attacks.
