BEAM to drop new album, ‘King TUT’
Jamaican-born singer, rapper, songwriter and producer BEAM (Tyshane Thompson) the son of dancehall artiste-turned-gospel deejay Papa San, will on Friday release his sophomore album, King TUT.
King TUT is the follow up BEAM’s 2022 release, Alien.
Not much details of the album have been revealed, but BEAM made a post on his official Instagram page on Thursday morning with the album’s artwork and the caption “King TUT 9.13”.
BEAM is well-known on the American music scene, having co-wrote, produced or performed on hit songs by Justin Bieber, Major Lazer, Stefflon Don, Skrillex, Popcaan, Pop Smoke and Kanye West among several others.
In 2022, he was featured on the track Energy by Beyonce, which was among the songs on her Renaissance album. Energy was certified gold in Canada and 3x platinum in Brazil. It peaked at #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Earlier this year, he co-wrote the track Burn, which was recorded by Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign. It was featured on their collaborative album, Vultures 1.
Burn reached #17 on the UK Singles, #14 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, #33 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #19 on the Canadian Hot 100 charts.
BEAM, who was born in Kingston, migrated to Florida as a teenager.
