St James electrician dies in house fire
ST JAMES, Jamaica— A man died in a fire which destroyed his home in St James on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Carl Scott, an electrician of Blytheston district in the parish.
Reports are that about 11:30 pm, Scott was at home when residents saw his house engulfed in flames.
The fire brigade was summoned and firefighters who arrived on the scene carried out cooling down operations.
Following the cooling down operations, the charred remains of Scott were found in the rubble.
According to reports, Scott’s pet dog was also trapped in the fire and was burnt to death.
The origin of the fire is currently unknown.
An estimate of the damage is not yet known.
