Primo Green and Quota reunite for ‘Day Ones’
Former members of sibling group EMG, Canadian hip hop artistes Primo Green and Quota reunite for Day Ones, a rocking track released in late August. It is produced by Chrxs.
This is the latest collaboration between the Toronto-based brother-sister duo, whose parents are Jamaican. Motion, a member of Primo Green’s camp, said there is a big effort to break him into the mainstream.
“We have plans for the group in the future, but right now the focus is on getting Primo out there,” he told Observer Online.
Day Ones is the follow-up to I Am Stronger, Primo Green’s collaboration with roots singer Norris Man. That song was released prior to his appearance at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay last July.
His debut performance on one of the world’s biggest reggae shows, has whetted Primo Green’s appetite for more gigs in his parents’ homeland.
“I would definitely love to perform on Sumfest again in the near future so I can showcase my artistry and versatility from the catalogue of songs I have. I’m forever grateful to Norris Man for giving me the opportunity to share the stage with him and I would love to perform again in Jamaica soon,” he said.
EMG (acronym for Entourage Music Group) recorded a number of songs including Touch The Road (with Jah Vinci). Since going solo, Primo Green has released a series of singles and one album, Wonderland.
