Pablo YG scores with Vevo
Dancehall artiste Pablo YG has achieved another milestone after being invited to Vevo Studios in New York to do live recordings of hits Rich N Richer and Ms Tessa.
The recordings were released on August 30.
For the young star, this was a monumental opportunity.
“First, thanks to my team, and it shows good music can get highlighted and more traction to a wider audience,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
Vevo is the world’s leading music video network owned by Universal Music Group (UMG), Sony Music Entertainment (SME), and Abu Dhabi Media. With more than 900,000 videos from artistes of all levels and genres, Vevo maintains the largest network of music channels on YouTube, as well as global distribution through a growing number of partners.
Pablo YG shared that he made the live recordings back in June. The opportunity came about through his manager and A&R on his label.
The artiste anticipates collaborating more with Vevo in the future. In the meantime, he is busy working on other projects.
“I’m currently doing some shows in USA and the Caribbean. I’m always working. [I’m] doing another mixtape, album and singles, so stay tuned,” he said.
Ms Tessa was released in June courtesy of producer and principal of Young Generation Fraternity (YGF) Records Tevin Richards. There are other artistes on the rhythm, including Jase and Rain.
On the other hand, Rich N Richer was released in July 2023. The official music video had over 16 million views on YouTube. The deejay released his first EP of the same name in March this year. The 13-track project featured collaborations from Kranium and Valiant.
