Money Miser, Bern Notice deliver electrifying wins at Caymanas Park
THE running of the $1.25-million O&S Tack Room Trophy feature at Caymanas Park on Saturday produced exciting finishes, with Money Miser and Bern Notice delivering stunning come-from-behind victories.
Money Miser — bred, owned, and trained by Fitzroy Glispie — powered to a two-length win in Division One of the Restricted Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward. Meanwhile Bern Notice, trained by Ian Roberts, squeaked out a narrow, half-length win in a photo finish in Division Two of the one-mile (1,600m) event.
With leading rider Tevin Foster in the irons, Money Miser (Soul Warrior – She’s Traditional) got home ahead of Power From Above (Matthew Bennett) and favourite
Digital One (Raddesh Roman), in that order. Money Miser stopped the clock in a time of 1:40.0 (23.3 x 45.5 x 1:12.3 x 1:26.1).
Bern Notice, ridden by apprentice Shavon Townsend, came from far behind runners to beat Oasis Jak (Shane Richardson) on the line in a thrilling finishing.
Life is Life (Carlos Blake) came home in third place in a final time of 1:41.4 (23.4 x 46.3 x 1:13.2 x 1:27.2).
Both Foster and Townsend had two winners each in the 11-race card. Foster closed the programme aboard Small Boss for trainer Andrian Prince while Townsend had earlier won aboard Regnant in the second race for trainer Henry Harrison Jr.
Also with two winners was jockey Raddesh Roman who booted home Schlesinger in the first race for trainer Winchester McIntosh and Natural Dancer in the eighth race for trainer Gary Subratie.
Racing continues next weekend with races on Saturday and Sunday.
