Leon Bailey gives back to home community with back-to-school treat
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Scores of children benefitted from a back-to-school treat hosted by Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey in his hometown town Cassava Piece, Kingston on Saturday.
The treat was organised through the Leon Bailey Foundation and saw several children from the community receiving packages to assist them with preparing for the new academic year in style.
Speaking during the treat, his mother Jean Brown shared, “Giving back to the kids in my community where we started from, it makes me feel good because a lot of them don’t have a father and dem thing deh, so it makes me so proud.”
“It’s a great look, a very great look and I’ll give God thanks. May God continue this journey that we continue doing this progress of helping our community,” she continued.
Noting that the treat was well- attended, foundation representative Lamar Aikin shared future plans for improvement.
“We’re looking to do this every year, maybe bigger next year with a lot of sponsors coming on maybe over Constant Spring Football Field. As you see today, there are a lot of people here, a lot of kids. Giving back is important to Leon and us as a foundation,” Aikin said.
