Landslides block roads in John’s Hall
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Observer Online understands that sections of the roadway between John’s Hall and adjoining communities in St James have been rendered impassable after heavy rains caused landslides in the community.
Heavy rains that have been lashing the area for the past few days, started again in the late morning on Saturday where the already inundated soil gave way in several areas.
At least three different sections along the roadway are now blocked to all forms of traffic with individuals walking having to use extreme caution in traversing the area.
A massive rise in a nearby river channel also saw severe flooding leaving a large amount of debris on the roadway. At least one car was washed away because of the deluge.
