Digital One favoured to win O and S Tack Room Trophy Division One
The 2024 staging of the O&S Tack Room Trophy, a Restricted Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward, is the highlight of tomorrow’s 11-race card.
The event, which boasts a $1.25-million purse, has been split into two divisions, with Division One featuring eight runners going over one mile (1,600m).
The Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide provides an in-depth analysis of the competitors vying for top honours in Division One.
1. JOHNCROWJEFF: (6 b g by Northern Giant – Sweetyourock) – Unfortunately, this veteran gelding has shown no recent form to suggest a winning performance is imminent.
2. CHAMPION BUBBLER (USA): (5 b m by Tapiture – Countess Clare) – Although she’s struggled to find her footing lately, this capable mare is due for a strong showing. Keep an eye on her.
3. DIGITAL ONE (USA): (3 b f by Uncle Lino – Legal Redemption) – The one to beat. With two seconds and two thirds from four starts, Digital One is primed to register her first win for the season. Expect a peak performance from this talented filly, and she should finally reach the winners’ circle without excuses. Note: Blinkers off, visor on.
4. POWER FROM ABOVE: (4 ch f by Key to Power – Blufield) – This capable filly should relish the distance and is expected to turn in a strong performance. Her workouts coming into the race suggest she’s ready to run a big race, although the win might still elude her.
5. POWER: (5 ch h by Bal A Bali – Swift Fox) – Unfortunately, this veteran horse appears outclassed in this contest and is likely to struggle to keep up.
6. HEROINE: (5 ch m by Soul Warrior – Rock ‘A’ Way) – Realistically, this mare faces an uphill battle to contend with the stronger rivals in this field, and a win seems highly unlikely.
7. MONEY MISER (4 ch c by Soul Warrior – She’s Traditional) – Although winless in two attempts at this level, Money Miser has been showing promise in training and looks poised to mount a strong challenge to Digital One’s dominance. His sixth-place finish on August 3 was a mere 4 ½ lengths behind Madelyn’s Sunshine, and he’s expected to improve significantly here.
8. BURLAP (4 b c by Casual Trick – Fedora) – This capable colt has the talent to run a respectable race and should not be overlooked. While not the most likely winner,
Burlap should acquit himself well and avoid disgrace.
